Orange Money Morocco launches international money transfer reception from France

As of May 20, 2020, Orange Money is launching the international money transfer functionality enabling its customers to receive money from their relatives living in France, in real time and securely, via their mobile phone. Mr. Yves Gauthier, CEO of Orange Morocco said:

“By implementing international money transfer, we want to offer our customers an alternative to the traditional means of receiving money across borders. From now on, their mobile phone allows them to receive money from their relatives living in France at a lower cost, instantaneously and securely”.

To make this money transfer, Orange France customers top up their Orange Money account by bank card or in cash at a point of sale. They can then initiate the transfer to Morocco directly from their mobile phone. After indicating the recipient’s mobile phone number, the amount to be transferred and confirming the transaction with their Orange Money secret code, the money is instantly transferred to the recipient’s account.

To receive money, it is sufficient that the receiver in Morocco holds an Orange Money account with a maximum limit of 5,000 or 20,000 Dhs. Once the sender in France has made a money transfer via his Orange Money France account, the receiver in Morocco has access to his money instantly on his mobile phone and can use it as he wishes by making a cash withdrawal, a bill payment, a top-up purchase, or in turn a money transfer.
