African startups fundraising in 2019: 234 deals for 1.010,010 billion FCFA (1,5 million €)

Overall, 234 African startups have raised a total of 1,010 billion FCFA in 2019, which represents an increase of 74%, according to the venture capital firm Partech Africa. The countries with the highest number of start-ups in 2019 are Nigeria (90), South Africa (78), Egypt (56) and Kenya (50). In French-speaking Africa, Tunisia (36), Morocco (34), Côte d’Ivoire (22) and Mali (17) bring together, according to the AfriLabs and Briter Bridges 2020 report.s.
